Today's Highlights

Today has been a day of bird squabbles and kinship. The Barn owl was a frequent sight today and, on catching a vole, immediately lost it when the kestrel disturbed his concentration. He did have success later and was seen feeding. A Marsh Harrier made a kill on the water and a Peregrine tried to interfere.... in vain. Then in the afternoon two different Marsh Harriers were seen sharing their quarry quite amiably.

A flock of 19 cranes were reported towards the back of the main lagoon this afternoon.
