Todays highlights

A slightly rainy start but the muggy weather brought a lot of birds closer than they normally would catching the low flying insects.  Lots of swifts, swallows and house martins taking advantage of the abundance of insects.  Over 30 black-tailed godwits infront of Nelson-lyle hide, Lyle hide and Friends hide using those fantastic long bills to find food in the soft mud.  One black-tailed godwit has colour rings on, can't wait to find out the information about this bird to see where it's been and how old it is!

Quail singing by Dragonfly ponds at 12pm!
