Chilean flamingos off show

Our Chilean flamingo flock is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to avian influenza (bird flu). We will let you know as soon as they are safe to be outdoors. Thank you for your understanding.

Record number of curlew on site

From just a single, solitary curlew last night; a record 1,220 are roosting on Wader Lake tonight!

The island and all the fingers are literally full of birds and the noise is incredible. We think the cold snap has brought them in and they look fairly settled for the evening, so hopefully they'll stick around for a little while :-)
