About the artist

Clare Money is a visual artist based in the North East of England. She has a studio in North Shields where she paints, draws and run classes for adults of all abilities keen to develop and explore their own artwork.

Over the past thirty years, she has worked in a variety of forms and produced drawings, paintings and more conceptual pieces that investigate and question ideas of place.

Clare believes that drawing in situ provides an intense experience of the surroundings and that by sitting still and absorbing all that is there, allowing the place to come to you rather than seeking out any aspect with a particular agenda, the artist makes particular and profound connections.
