Planned habitat maintenance - Monday 5 September

On (Monday 5 September) we’ll be doing some work to the fingers on Wader Lake. The fingers are a series of short channels that create mini wetlands within a wetland, providing essential feeding grounds for wading birds who have made the lake their home.

In addition to creating these fingers, we need to manage them effectively to ensure the vegetation that thrives there is beneficial to the species who rely on it. There's an abundance of willow herb in the area that needs cleared to expose the mud so birds can reach it easier and forage more effectively for food.

We’ll complete this work as quickly as we can in order to minimise disruption to the wildlife and our lovely visitors.
