There is some tree damage at the east of site on the visitor path. It's a very large tree so we will be keeping this area closed until we can get a tree surgeon in to make it safe. Thank you for your understanding, we will remove this alert once the area has reopened.

Moth mornings

Elephant hawkmoth
Elephant hawkmoth

Fancy seeing beautiful moth species such as this elephant hawk-moth up close?

Our warden Andrew will be opening his moth traps to the public on Sundays 6 and 13 July at 10.30am, so why not come along and find out which lovely lepidopterans he has lured overnight!

Numbers are totally dependent on the weather, so if it's particularly wet and dismal closer to the time we'll reschedule.

But for now, pencil one of those dates in your diary, charge your camera battery and he'll see you up at the trap, which is behind the barn near Playscape.

He's the chap with the moth ID book in his hand ;-)

(N.B. please note that usual admission rates apply).
