Whoopers
A frosty and misty start to the day followed by a very pleasant day with great viewing. An early morning count produced 500 Whooper Swan, a good count for the end of October. Quite a few reports coming in from Scotland of Whoopers moving in the past few days.
A good raptor day with 3 Peregrine, 5 Marsh Harrier, 8 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk seen. A Merlin was also seen on Monday.
Five Stonechat on fence posts around the reserve.
Lapwing 500+, Ruff 30+, Common Snipe 20+ and a few Black-tailed Godwit.
