Short Eared Owl

A fabulous Short-eared Owl graced the reserve late afternoon and was showing well at times from Ron Barker Hide, also visible from most of the other hides at times. At least 2 Marsh Harriers and 2 Peregrine were the best of the raptors.

Up to 20 Ruff, 2 Dunlin and a Green Sandpiper were on view from Ron Barker late afternoon, also good numbers of Snipe around today. A Curlew flew over the Mere in the morning.

A Cetti's Warbler was heard on the Reedbed walk, also another Cetti's could be heard singing late afternoon from Ron Barker/Kingfisher Hide. Other Warblers seen today included 2 Willow Warbler on the Reedbed Walk.

A Kingfisher was on view from UU Hide mid afternoon and at least 12 Pink-footed Geese were seen from Ron Barker Hide.
