2 Little Egrets on the Mere briefly today - although Little Egrets are seen fairly regularly on the reserve, 2 together is unusual. Also on the Mere, as many as 300 Shelduck, along with 20 Pochard, 3 Tufted Duck, a single male Goldeneye, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, and at least 40 Ruff.

At least one Tawny Owl was on view in the usual spot near the Kingfisher hide. 4 or 5 different Common Buzzards were on view for the whole day and could be seen from any of the hides at one time or another, and 2 Marsh Harriers were reported from the Ron Barker hide, where a Stoat was also seen.
