Autumn Spectacle

A lovely day on the reserve, a little low cloud early becoming calm sunny and warm from early afternoon onwards.

The main action is Pink-footed Geese. Around 10,000 birds in the area, in fact, any where you might look you'll see or hear Pink-feet. A single Barnacle Goose with Pink's this afternoon.

An influx of Lapwing c1500 were filling the skies with 500+ Starling, the later hawking insects over the reserve.

Plenty of raptors on show with 3 Marsh Harrier, 5+ Common Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk, Peregrine and Kestrel.

Reported waders included 25+ Ruff, 10+ Common Snipe, a few Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Little Ringed Plover and Ringed Plover.

Kingfisher from the Ron Barker Hide.
