WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. We will reopen on Thursday 21 May as usual. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Small Red-eyed Damselflies

SREDamsel

Millennium Wetlands

At least three small red-eyed damselflies were perched on pondweed in-front of the Peter Scott hide today. Probably the most westerly population in Britain and the only one in Wales.

Other dragonflies on the wing included the first emerald damselfly of the year, as well as several emperors, black-tailed skimmers and common darters.

8 Mediterranean Gulls were in-front of the Peter Scott hide in the morning with 250+ black-tailed godwit, dunlin, 2 lapwing, 2 little grebe, 4 teal, and 3 little egret also on the lake.
