We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent Sightings 6th - 8th November

Highlights - Brent Geese, Green Sandpiper, Fox, Otter

British Steel Hide

Slightly fewer wader species being seen on the Saline Lagoons recently with Greenshank, Redshank, Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit, and Curlew. Other Birds seen on the Saline Lagoons include: Little Egret, Buzzard, Grey Heron with Oystercatchers and Brent Geese being seen on the estuary. There was also a Fox seen patrolling around the Dafen Scrapes and Saline Lagoons Friday Morning.

Millennium Wetlands

On the Wetlands there was an Otter heard from the 2nd pond walk on the Northern Loop where there is also a good selection of woodland birds including Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jay and Long-tailed Tits. On the Deep Water Lake there have been regular sightings of Kingfishers and Cetti's Warblers from the Peter Scott Hide as well as the more regular species such as Cormorant, Tufted Duck and Little Grebe.

From the Observatory Hide there have been regular sightings of Green Sandpipers and they can sometimes come quite close in front of the hide.
