We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent Sightings 4th - 7th January

Highlights - Merlin, Spoonbill, Brent Geese, Grey Plover

British Steel Hide

Out on the Estuary there has been good numbers of Brent Geese, Pintail and Oystercatchers where there has also been a female Merlin sighted. On the Saline Lagoons the usual Spoonbills have been showing well along with a good selection of waders which includes: Grey Plover, Greenshank, Redshank, Dunlin, Knot, Black-tailed Godwit and Lapwing. On the Dafen Scrapes there has been a good variety of wildfowl such as: Pochard, Shoveler, Wigeon, Shelduck, Tufted Duck and an unusual Mallard - Shelduck hybrid.

Millennium Wetlands

On the Deep Water Lake there has been a Cetti's Warbler and Water Rail heard from the Peter Scott Hide. There is also a wide variety of wildfowl such as: Wigeon, Pochard, Shoveler, Mallard, Gadwall and Tufted Duck. There has also been a female Goldeneye seen from various viewing screens along the Northern Loop.
