We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent Sightings 4th - 6th December

Highlights - Egyptian Geese, Merlin, Green Sandpiper, Spoonbills

British Steel Hide

The Spoonbills have shown brilliantly in front of the British Steel Hide on the Saline Lagoons, feeding right in front of the hide. There has been a good selection of birds of prey including: Merlin, Sparrowhawk and Peregrine. A Kingfisher has also been sighted a few times on the Saline Lagoons.

There have been two Egyptian Geese seen occasionally on the Dafen Scrapes but they are proving elusive. There have been lots of Wigeon seen recently with over 200 seen today.


Millennium Wetlands

A good selection of Wildfowl on the Deep Water Lake recently with: Teal, Shoveler, Mallard, Gadwall, Pochard, Tufted Duck and Wigeon. The Starling Murmuration has slowly been building near the Bittern Reed Bed, but is best viewed from the Welsh Water Hide.
