Recent sightings 27th - 29th January

Some great sightings of the Peregrine on Sunday morning hunting over deep water lake, and also some displays from Sparrowhawks over the trees North of the Welsh Water Hide.

British Steel Hide

Unfortunately strengthening work is taking place on the sea wall currently so we do not have any counts over the lagoons.

Millennium Wetlands

It has been a busy few days on the wetlands with regular Otter sightings continuing on deep water lake, and on Monday the otter was seen on the pond walk as well. After the weekend's high winds there have been numerous Little Egrets sheltering in the Trees between the Peter Scott and Heron's wing hide, and there were around 250 Black-tailed Godwits hunkered down on the main island. Also seen on deep water lake and around the reserve has been 3 Grey Herons, Lapwing, Little Grebe, Pintail, Shoveler, Pochard, Shelduck, Teal and Gadwall. Some great sightings of the Peregrine on Sunday morning hunting over deep water lake, and also some displays from Sparrowhawks over the trees North of the Welsh Water Hide. Other birds seen include Siskin, Reed Bunting, Bullfinch, Redwing, Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Green Woodpecker.
