WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent Sightings 26th August - 3rd September

Highlights include, Osprey, Garganey, Marsh Harrier, Barn Owl, Spotted Flycatcher, Spotted Redshank, Grey Plover, Cattle Egret, Spoonbill and Whimbrel.

British Steel Hide

Recent high tides have brought numerous wader species including: 1 Spotted Redshank, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Whimbrel, 4 Dunlin, 40 Greenshank, 411 Knot, 564 Curlew and an impressive 630 Black-tailed Godwits, all of which had to contend with a hungry Peregrine Falcon.

As well as an impressive selection of waders we have had an Osprey and Marsh Harrier sighted briefly near the Saline Lagoons. The Dafen Scrapes have also had some interesting visitors including 2 Garganey. The usual Spoonbills and Cattle Egret are still visible on the Saline Lagoons as well as up to 39 Little Egrets.

Millennium Wetlands

A Barn Owl has been seen over the Millennium Wetlands recently as well as usual visitors such as the Kingfisher and a family of Little Grebes.
