Recent Sightings 25th-29th September

Highlights: Grey Phalarope, Otter, Little Stint, Wood Sandpiper, Ruff

Numerous Otter sightings over on the Millennium Wetlands.

Millennium Wetlands

Throughout the week Otter have been seen bobbing their heads up from the deep water lake. Otters are usually most active at night, dawn and dusk, however Otter have been seen this week in the late afternoon from the Sir Peter Scott hide. In the water Otter dive down into the water in search of food. They could be looking for anything from Eel, to fish and amphibian species in the water's depths.

A Cuckoo was seen flying over the Sir Peter Scott hide on Monday (25/09).

Saline Lagoon

A Grey Phalarope has been spotted once again on the saline lagoon (25/09). A Little Stint has also been spotted out on the saline lagoon (29/09).

Dafen Scrapes

Two Wood Sandpiper have been spotted feeding along the waters edge in and amongst Black-Tailed Godwit. Plenty of Ruff have been spotted in and amongst the Black-Tailed Godwit and the usual duck suspects - Gadwall, Teal, Wigeon, Shoveler.
