WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent sightings 24th - 26th October

British Steel Hide

Plenty of waders still to see on the saline lagoons with 475 Black-tailed Godwit, 133 Knot, around 50 Curlew, 4 Dunlin, as well as Redshank and Greenshank. Large numbers of Pintail - 180 and Shelduck - 100 have been spotted, and 35 Dark-bellied Brent Geese have been seen on the estuary.

On the Dafen scrapes Teal and Shoveler have been seen, as well as Meadow Pipit.

 

Millennium Wetlands

Spotted on deep water lake have been 49 Gadwall, 18 Tufted Duck, 14 Teal, 5 Shoveler, 2 Wigeon, 2 Pochard, and 9 Pintail. Water rail can still be heard around the wetlands, and keep your eyes peeled for Green Woodpecker around the site.

On the freshwater lagoon large numbers of Teal can be seen from the boardwalk hide and observatory with 237 being seen, as well as 32 Shelduck and 4 Pintail.
