We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent Sightings 1st - 3rd January

Highlights - Spotted Redshank, Yellow-legged Gull, Golden Plover, Goldeneye, Otters

British Steel Hide

With the Tick and Twitch event happening on the 1st there was a wide variety of species to kick of the new year with 69 species seen in total. On the Saline Lagoons there are plenty of waders, including: Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, Grey Plover, Golden Plover, Redshank, Black-tailed Godwit, Lapwing, Dunlin, Curlew, Bar-tailed Godwit and Green Sandpiper. There is also an Adult Yellow-legged Gull spending time on the Lagoons. The Spoonbill have been seen on the Dafen Scrapes Recently as well as on the Saline Lagoons.

Millennium Wetlands

The Otters has been putting on a great show recently and have been seen everyday of the new year so far. the best place to see the Otters would be on the Deep Water Lake. There is a good range of wildfowl on the Deep Water Lake with a female Goldeneye and a few Pintail being the best amongst the more regular visitors.
