A great turn out for high tide over the last couple of evenings despite the grim weather! Upwards of 150 lapwing, 350 black-tailed godwit, 44 cormorant, 76 wigeon, 5 greenshank on the saline lagoons. The gulls have been coming in to roost in big numbers; c200 black-headed gulls, 12 greater black-backed gulls, and around 449 herring gulls. We still get regular sightings of 1 Spoonbill and 3 Avocet.

Millennium Wetlands

Good numbers of waders and ducks have been seen on the western scrapes over the past few days, including 140 black-tailed godwit, over 100 mallard, a couple of shoveler and several gadwall and teal. On Deep Water Lake is a similar story, with around 62 lapwing, 60 teal, coot, cormorant, shoveler and snipe. The feeders are still busy, with sightings of great spotted wood pecker, chaffinch, great tit and blue tit. The rain hasn't deterred the starlings in the reedbed, they have been seen to roost in front of the Peter Scott Hide.
