Recent Sightings 18th-24th June

Highlights - Great White Egret, Mediterranean Gull, Shoveler and Fox cubs

A great white egret was spotted at the beginning of the week on the Millennium wetlands, feeding on the lake.

Both great crested grebes, and little grebes, are still busy providing lots of fish for their young, which are now growing rapidly.

Numbers of Mediterranean gulls are still high on the reserve with good sightings occurring on the Lagoon and Deep water lake. Several shoveler were also seen around the reserve this week, including a pair spotted on the lagoon.

Large flocks of Starling can now regularly be seen on the marsh, most of these, juveniles from this breeding season.

Fox sightings have been good this week with several seen around the Millennium wetlands, including a family with cubs.
