Recent Sightings 16th - 19th November

Water Pipit, Spotted Redshank, Goshawk, Barn Owl,

After a week or so of very few waders, over the past few days a decent variety of waders have been seen including: Spotted Redshank, Knot, Redshank, Greenshank, Black-tailed Godwit, Curlew, Snipe and Dunlin. There has also been a Water Pipit seen on the Dafen Scrapes but it is very elusive and has only been seen a couple of times. A pair of Kingfishers have been showing very well on the Saline Lagoons by demonstrating their impressive hovering behaviour.

Millennium Wetlands

There are lots Wildfowl on the Deep Water Lake at the moment with Gadwall, Pochard, Tufted Duck, Teal, Mallard and Shoveler. There has also been sightings of a Barn Owl and Goshawk over the Northern Loop and Deep Water Lake. There have been several reports of Water Rail and Cetti's Warbler scattered around the reserve, however, you are more likely to hear them than see them.
