We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent Sightings 15th - 21st August

Highlights - Spotted Redshank, Wood Sandpiper, Sandwich Tern and Great White Egret

British Steel Hide

On the Saline Lagoons there has been a good variety of waders roosting including: Spotted Redshank, Curlew, Dunlin, Lapwing, Whimbrel, Greenshank, Redshank, Black-tailed Godwit and Grey Plover. Out on the estuary there was a flock of 20 Sandwich Terns fishing on the edge of the saltmarsh. On the Dafen Scrapes four Garganey have been seen in amongst the Teal flock. Around the edges of the lagoons there has been a Wood Sandpiper and a couple of Green Sandpipers.

Millennium Wetlands

The Great White Egret has been spending more time on the Deep Water Lake. Cettis Warblers have been heard at various locations around the reserve. The Kingfishers has been making the odd appearance in front of the Peter Scott Hide.
