WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. We will reopen on Thursday 21 May as usual. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Recent Sightings 13th-19th December

Highlights - Merlin, Pintail, Spoonbill, Spotted Redshank, Little Grebe, Redshank and Greenshank and Fox.

British Steel Hide

There have been good numbers of redshank and greenshank on the saline lagoon and Dafen scrapes this week and a spotted redshank has been amongst them too. Five spoonbills are still showing nicely everyday. A merlin has been spotted in various places on various days so we are always on the look out. Out on the estuary there have been Brent geese and oystercatchers.

Millennium Wetlands

Its been nice to catch a fox on camera this week to better understand their behaviour on the reserve at night. A pintail has been seen consistently on the western scarpes along with some Greylags, shoveler and a redshank making up an unlikely crew! A sparrow hawk and a red kite were both seen in the millennium wetlands earlier this week. A little grebe has been on deep water lake a lot too.
