WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. We will reopen on Thursday 21 May as usual. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Special programme and special offer for schools to celebrate world wetlands day!

As part of our world wetlands day celebrations this year (as well as two of our staff performing magic tricks before having  wet sponges thrown at them! - see http://www.wwt.org.uk/visit/llanelli/whats-on/2013/02/02/world-wetlands-day/) we are offering a special programme and a special offer to schools, suitable for children KS2 and above - and we are offering one place in 10 FREE if you book this programme. You may even qualify for a completely free visit if you are eligible under our Inspiring Generations scheme – visit http://www.wwt.org.uk/learn/learn-at-wwt-llanelli/free-school-visits/ for more information.

In collaboration with Welsh Water, we will be offering this special programme between Tuesday 29 January and Friday 1 February, in the run up to world wetlands day. The session, entitled “Water – where does it come from and how can we look after it?”, lasts two hours and will see children investigating water with hands-on activities – assembling the pipe work to supply a model seaside town with water without wasting any, and exploring real wetlands on the WWT Llanelli reserve.

This session is a great way to investigate the water cycle, and tackle ESDGC themes of sustainability and citizenship. For more information or to book your visit, contact education.llanelli@wwt.org.uk, or phone the centre on 01554741087 and ask to speak to a member of our learning staff.
